Four men arrested for illegal mining in Ebonyi State

Di Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Abakiliki, Ebonyi State capital arrest four people for illegal mining in Ebonyi State.

Di security team find four of di suspect inside one mining pit for Aneka, Ezza South Local Government Area, and Ezzamgbo, Ohaukwu Local Government Area in the same state.

Di command sealed up di pit after arresting di suspects.

After which them also seal up one gas plant wey them build for residential area where houses, shops and churches dey for 139 Ezzamgbo.

State commandant of di NSCDC, Francis Nnadi wey lead di arrest talk sey di illegal mining activities dey constitute environmental hazzard and e dey life threatening.

NSCDC Commandant warns against dangerous activities

Nnadi talk sey, him dey wonder why people go decide to build gas plant for where human beings de live.

Sey as di commandant, him no go allow any activities wey go endanger people go on.

According to Nnadi,di four suspects no get licence to mine or build di gas plant.

“ Na almost 2.8 tons of gas and if you pay attention you go see sey na where people dey live and even cook. You can see as children sef de play. Church sey dey near di plant.

We need to teach people how dangerous this kind of business is especially as na where people de live them build di business.

I want to use di opportunity to warn di people about this practice. If you remember this type of thing happen for Los Angeles where di wildfire happen. This thing fit burn down di whole community. We don arrest di suspect and him go appear for court.”
