Notorious One-Chancd syndicate in Lagos

Di Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) don arrest one notorious “One-Chance” syndicate wey dey use painted commercial bus (KSF 56 XL) to rob passengers of dia belongings.

Di arrest happen near Conoil filling station on Funsho Williams Avenue, Surulere, after one female passenger, Miss Bibian Emelifonwu, fall victim to di group on her way to work.

Wetin Happen to Miss Emelifonwu?

Miss Emelifonwu talk say she board di bus and sit down next to one man for di front seat. Under di guise of adjusting di door, di man lean towards her and stole her phone from her bag.

After dem commit di theft, di group cruelly push her out of di moving vehicle. Luckily, LASTMA officers wey witness di incident give chase, intercept di bus, and arrest di driver, Toyib Ogunjobi.

However, his accomplices, including di conductor and another passenger, escape.

Ogunjobi confesses

During interrogation, Ogunjobi confess say him be di leader of di three-man team, including di bus owner. Him admit say dem target passengers with low fares on di Costain-Ojota route, rob dem, and forcefully eject dem from di vehicle.

Ogunjobi talk say dem earn ₦250,000 to ₦300,000 daily by selling stolen items. Seven phones dem recover from him during his arrest.

Di arrest of di notorious “One-Chance” syndicate show say LASTMA dey serious about fighting crime and protecting Lagosians from robbers.
