Di news of gospel singer Timilehin Ajayi wey plead not guilty to charges of culpable homicide punishable by death don spread like wildfire.
Timilehin Ajayi was arraigned on Monday, 27 January, before Judge Simon Aboki after being accused of taking di life of his girlfriend, Salome Adaidu.
Di allegations levelled on Timilehin Ajayi
Ajayi was taken into custody on January 12 in Nasarawa after authorities allegedly found him with Adaidu’s severed head in a polythene bag.

Adaidu, an employee at Nicon Insurance in Abuja, had reportedly visited Ajayi’s residence in di Papalana area of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa, before her tragic death.

Timilehin Ajayi confession
Timilehin Ajayi allegedly confessed to di crime during police interrogation, claiming it was a reaction to discovering Adaidu’s infidelity.
He admitted to killing her in a fit of rage but expressed no remorse for his actions. “I didn’t plan to kill her,” Ajayi reportedly said:
“She was always cheating and hiding things from me. When I saw her phone and discovered she was chatting with other men, I got angry. I confronted her, and when she admitted and apologized, I snapped. I went to di room, took a knife, and did what I had to do.”
Ajayi’s statement
Ajayi claimed he surrendered himself to di authorities voluntarily, adding, “If I wanted to avoid getting caught, I could have. But I’m ready to face di consequences of my actions.” Salome Adaidu was laid to rest on January 14.
