Jude Okoye granted ₦100 million bail

The Federal High Court in Lagos don grant N100 million bail for Jude Okoye wey be former manager of P-Square, the defunct music duo made up of twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye.

Justice Alexander Owoeye, wey preside the matter for Monday, ruled say Jude Okoye must provide two sureties in like sum. One of the sureties go get landed property, among other conditions. Additionally, the court come ban am from traveling out of the country.

Jude Okoye bail conditions

Them require Okoye to provide two sureties, each of whom must have a landed property in Lagos valued at N100 million. The sureties go also show evidence of tax payment for three years.

Furthermore, Okoye is prohibited from traveling outside Nigeria without permission from the court.

Allegations against Jude Okoye

According to wetin the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) talk, Okoye and his company, Northside Music Limited, allegedly acquire property at No. 5, Tony Eromosele Street, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos, for N850 million in 2022.

The EFCC claim say the money wey him use to purchase the property na proceeds of unlawful activities.

Charges against Jude Okoye

EFCC arraign Jude Okoye for a seven-count indictment, wey include charges of money laundering involving N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59. But Okoye don plead say him no dey guilty to the charges.
