Lagos State House of Assembly swear in their first female speaker Mojisola Meranda today, Monday, January 13, 2025.

This development come shortly after them impeach do former speaker, Midashiru Obasa.

During her path taking, Meranda vow sey she go dey faithful as di speaker wey de represent Papa 1 State Constituency for national assembly.

History made in Lagos State House of Assembly

As them de try create balance for society and public offices, Lagos State don make history as them swear in their first female speaker after them impeach Obasa.

Mojisola Meranda, di newly installed female speaker talk for her path taking sey, “ I affirm sey I go dey faithful as di speaker of di Lagos State House of Assembly, that I go perform all my functions honestly to di best of my ability faithfully, and in accordance with di constitution of Nigeria”.

Things to know about Mojisola Meranda

Mojisola na long time lawmaker and politician wey don dey inside national assembly since 2015 till date.

Them born Mojisola for August 16, 1958 for royal family of Ojora, Armoire, Onitana, Oloto and Oniru.

Her papa na Chief T. A Lawal Akapo, wey be also lawmaker who later become Ojora of Lagos.

She attend her primary and secondary school for Lagos State. Randle primary school and Lagos Anglican Girls Grammar school and Ansar Ud-Deen.

She graduate from department of Public Administration for 2013 inside Lagos State University.

After her service she serve as a personal assistant to Lagos State Government. After which she further her education and later continue to work for public offices.
